Expected 'Life' of a Sierra ?
Hello everyone, I come to you with my current auto situation. I drive high mileage, 400-900 miles a week, driving as I am a sales rep on the road. I currently drive a used 2003 Ford Taurus with 175,000 miles on it. It is probably in the late winter of its life. As a Scoutmaster who camps every month and who lives on the Outer Banks where we can drive on the beach the Taurus has not been a fun vehicle when I am not working.
I have always wanted a Sierra, love the look and test drove one yesterday and it was a great ride. I worried that it wouldn't ride as good as my Taurus but it was better.
My question, do you guys think the 2010 Sierra 4 wheel drive will hold up with the type of mileage I put on vehicles ?

If you take care of it, you can easily get that thing to last as long as you want it to. It all comes down to maintenance. I know of quite a few Sierras/Silverados that have well over 300,000 and still running strong. My truck has 156,000 on it now and it still runs and drives like a new one. My dad has a Sierra at work that they use to haul heavy molds that just turned over 450,000. Maintenance maintenance maintenance.
