Fan help

Post Fan help

i have a 94 gmc 1500 2wd 5.7 i get 10 mpg no matter what and im tryin to think of ways to make it better and i noticed that my fan never stops spinning i thought there were centrifugal

Is it a electric fan or mechanical? If it is the mechanical fan, the reason it may not stop spinning is the fan clutch is either bad or missing.

It should always spin, but the clutch should adjust how much slip there is according to the temperature.

yea it is mechanical and is that typical that i am getting around 10 mpg with that truck

I have a 97 with a 350 SWB 2WD and I get 17-20 depending on how I drive

sounds about normal for the engine size. I get about 12-15 in my truck. Mine is the 5.4L Ford 351

A 5.8 is actually a 351 I think yours is closer to a 330.
