I have a 97 GMC Sierra K1500 with a 5.7 Litre.
I just bought a dual cat-back kit from Flowmaster (#17187) and am just about to install it. I am concerned because it comes with a 70 series Big Block 2 muffler, which is Flowmaster's quietest muffler!
I want to hear my new exhaust!... Will I be satisfied with this kit?
Any opionions are greatly appreciated.I posted this in the GMC sierra forms, thought I'd get your opinions too!

 

It will be quieter than the 40 series, but I still think will sound OK. Try going to the flowmaster site and listen to the sound clips.

 

I had the 70 series on my 99 z71 and i liked them better than the 40 series that i now have on my 02 z71.The 40 series to me have to much "in cab noise".

 

I had the 40s on my 93 z-71 and it was only loud in the cab under heavy accelleration. Just cruizing it was not bad at all.

 

70 series should do just fine. 40 series is the loudest no doubt.I had two 40 series on my 95 Z-71 with hooker headers and no cats. It was so damn loud it would wake the dead! I loved it!!

I installed it on Friday, and I love it! It's loud when I want it to be, and sounds nice and quiet on the highway.
I was worried that it wouldn't be loud enough, but I am happy. 40 series must be awsome loud, cause this 70 kit sounds sweet too!
