RE: ford tauras electric fans
I'm not sure how big your radiator is, so I'll tell you about the specs on mine and you can draw your own conclusions:
I have a Griffin alum radiator that is 31"x19" on my SB 81 camaro. A Taurus fan will fit just fine on mine...
If you have the room for it (I'm sure you do), personally I'd get one from a Taurus as opposed to getting one from an LS1 car because I'm sure it'd be MUCH cheaper.

Ballpark price for the LS1 fans is $100 from a salvage yard. You can buy a harness that plugs into your PCM and have someone with tuning software activate Pin 42 and set when you want the fans to kick on. The harness can be bought for about $100 as well. Might not be the cheapest route, but it works good.
