Front end noise
I have this really odd noise in my front end. It comes from the drivers side and only when I'm driving in town. The noise appears at 30 and goes away at 40. Its a howling noise and I can't seem to figure it out cause its only in the speed range. Any ideas?
Truck is a 4 wheel drive. I have made many changes but its made the noise before I did these. I've had 2 other sets of wheels besides the factory's and with all of them the noise is still there. But the weirdest part is its only in that 10 mph band.
I got the same thing going on with the 2004 Z71 4WD that I just bought. It only has 35000 miles on it so hope it is something simple. Sounds just like the noise you get when you rub your finger around the top of a wet crystal class. It comes in at about 25 mph and goes away at 40 mph. Driving me nuts. I am about ready to take it back to the dealer and let him listen to it. Any suggestions??
ridge runner - have you tried rocking your truck by hand when sitting still? I had a squeaking noise in mine when moving at speed but not going slow. Ended up being the shock bushings in the front end. started around 25-30k miles
