Default front feels loose

I own a 2009 2500 Duramax 4x4 with 1000 miles. Bridgestone tires (60# air pressure) When driving on city streets I get a 'loose feeling' in the front end. I have taken to dealer to check for problems. Dealer states they 'retorqued' front end components, no change. My question is this a characteristic of truck or has anyone else had similar experience.

When you say "loose feeling" does it sway or actually feel like there is something loose under there - rattling/clunking? You could try playing with the air pressure a bit. We had a bad sway in our 2500 Suburban and I had to run the front tires to about 65lbs to get it to go away (the factory sticker calls for 40lbs). The tires are rated to 80lbs so you have a little room there.

Are you talking about that your steering is loose and sloppy, then this sounds like a worn out pitman and idler arm. I suggest going with moog for the replacement parts over stock and then get the cognito upgraded supports. You can check to see if these are parts are worn out, have someone get in the truck start it up and turn the wheels to the left and right slow and see if the idler and piman arms have slack in them. If so then they need replacing.

Default loose feeling front end

Thanks for responses. When I say loose it feels like a loose shock I mainly feel it in the steering column. I have played with air pressure, no change. Mind you this truck only has 1000 miles on it. I have scheduled an appointment with another dealer to see if they can tell me if I have a problem. Thanks, Mikey

I wonder if the newer trucks have an issue with the intermediate steering shaft like the prior years. Maybe something to look at.
