i have a very long background in the mechanic field, so this isnt new to me. if these bearings last that long with no maintainance, which now i think they will then i agree with Null-Head that the designers have come up with a great caper here.
as they say in the trades Oil is the cheapest thing you can buy, at least it used to be.. LOL.
