Front wheel hubs
Hey guys, I have a 2004 silverado 1500 that I have put 20" wheels on with the stock backspacing. I have replaced the front wheel hubs 3 times so far. 1st time 4 years from new, then about 2 years apart, give or take a few months. I have put the 3 year warranty timken bearings on the last 2 times, they are good at replacing under warranty, but is there a more heavy duty bearing hub that I can get to atleast extend the replacement cycle.
My experience has been that the OEM parts are usually better than after market suff. The hubs should be good for 150,000 to 200,000 miles unless used off road. I replaced the ones on my 91 chevy 4x4 at 200,000 miles and the ones I took off were still good, just did it for peace of mind. My 04 GMC Z71 I replaced the right front at 125,000 miles after pre-running the Baja 1000 in it.
