I did a search but couldn't find this problem. Sorry if it has already been discussed somewhere. When it is quite cold here ie >-20c, obviously the outside of all the windows frost up, but also the inside of the windshield gets very frost covered and takes at least 15 minutes to clear enough for me to see properly to drive. It is more of an issue when I have forgotten to plug in the truck on a cold night so obviously I should be more mindful of that but never-the-less I'm annoyed that it takes so long to defrost. Scraping the inside helps but not much I generally have to leave the truck idling for a long time which is against the city bylaws here. When I set the defrost dial I can hardly feel any air coming out of the vents. Is this normal?

 

I really have no idea how to help you with the problem or whether it's an issue or not, but i have found that with my truck, if I get in and start it, then just hit the gas and rev it at about 2200rpms for 30-45 seconds or so it will warm up much faster. It seems like common sense, but it works and the air will blow a lot faster if the truck isn't idling.
