fuel gauge trouble

Default fuel gauge trouble

im about to buy an 84 high sierra 1500 4.1 and the fuel gauge dont work. just wondering what should be done to fix this problem. Thank you.

There is a part called Fuel Sending Unit inside the gas tank that needs to be changed out.

alright and you reckon the best way to get to it would be pullin the bed?

Yes. What I did to mine cut a window in my bed so the next time I just unbolt the window and there it is. But taking the bed loose and moving it aside is much easier.
