Fuel system conversion

Fuel system conversion
I have a 1986 K-10 Silverado, I am now at 102,000 miles on the truck and 1150 miles on the 305 proformance that I recently put in. I am considering some mods to it in the near future, but right now my first task is to up my gas mileage, as I am only getting about 8 miles to the gallon (even after a carb rebuild). I am considering converting it to TBI or even fuel injected. I am curious though how hard this might be, and how costly. Any insight is welcome.

RE: Fuel system conversion
Higher volume fuel pump and an adjustable regulator, a brain box to control the unit
Then you will need a crank sensor, complete TBI with all sensors intacked, an intake that will bolt to a TBI unit, an o2 sensor, Evap canister, lots more vacuum lines, and stuff like that.
I would try a well-tuned Quadrajet before I went TBI. TBI units aren't much better than a carb plus you may loose some top end, (they only flow 400 cfm I believe).
