Default Gas Guage Fluctuating up and down!

My 2000 Silverado's gas guage goes up and down. i just finished installing a black widow alarm keyless entry remote start. could that have caused this problem?

Argon is right when i bought my 2000 silverado my gage did this same thing. And it was the fuel sender uniti never did replace it before i traded it in on my 2005 just because it only did it ever so offten so i did not want to spend the money on it. Thanks

Depending on the mileagethe sending unit isprobably gummed up or the contacts are wore out (from moving up and down) some people have had success running a couple cans of fuel injection cleaner through the tank. Seems to remove the residue if its not worn out!

Good Luck!
