Default Getting rid of ABS...

Idk if anyone else has the same problem as me when it comes to my ABS kicking on every time I come to a stop, but are there any ways to disable the ABS and still have normal brakes??..just wondering.

yep pull the abs fuse..........or you could clean your sensors and exciter rings which may help solve the problem you are having are you sure its the abs and not warpped rotors? they would feel the same

There was a regional recall on the abs. The salt on the roads was corroding the sensors. Try cleaning as chris said, but also call your local dealer to see if the recall applies to you.

The fuse is in the main fuse panel under the hood on the driver side. I had the same problem with my 98 and I had a bad hub. Now that I think about it I think my other hub is on it's way out, even though it is not doing the false ABS engagments.

Check your front hubs and see if they need to be replaced.

-Chrisbmo2000, warped rotors will not be the same feeling due to the ABS pump coming on when brakes are applied and only doing it at certain points. Warped rotors you would feel all the time and wouldn't be hit and miss. Nor would you hear the ABS pump come on and the feel of the peddle is totally different when the rotors are warped vs the ABS pump pumping the brakes.

I used to live in ND and it gets really icey there, in fact I drove on nothing but ice for a month straight. I know what the ABS pump feels like in a multitude of vehicles. It was so cold there the grave roads were iced over and forget about the mud. That is a FROZEN HELL HOLE! Literally.
