Default GMC Lift questions?

Ok so other then doing drops to trucks when i was a mechanic i never did a lift. I know you can go either body or suspention. My question is, with my 2005 GMC 1500 4X4 (non-HD) im looking to go a little higher, more for looks then anything else. Been looking around and since my truck has that funky front end, i wanna know if anyone has done a lift to this style front end, what did they use and how did it work out?

Are you just talking lifting the front end so that it does not sit lower than the rear? Or do you wanna lift the whole truck? How high do you want to go?

Hey sorry i havent been around for a few days. I would recomend a body lift because you can find those for about $200 where as for a good suspension lift your looking at over 1K. Basically what the body lift includes is some urythane risers that you install and some new mounting brackets for the front bumper and usually you have the buy the rear brackets seperate for some reason. Then some other nik-naks but it comes with everything you need. I am doing this to my truck here soon and have done some research and had some friends who have done this. look on ebay and autoanything.com as well as other sites that carry things like this for your best deal.

The only problem with the body lift is that you have to be careful how much you load down the bed because those spacerscan break right through and then your screwed.I dont know how much it can handle butI know they arent super delicate. i just wouldnt go pile up a ton rocks in there or anything. Im sure you just have to keep it within reason cuzI have never heard of it happening first hand its just one of the things they warn you about.
