Does anyone know of a tool that can take out small dents? i have a few dents in my truck that i think are able to pop out very easily but im not sure what to use. I have already taken it to the shop but i dont have the money for it and i think its a little too much for the damage i actually have. ill post some pics. i have three dents one is in the front left fender and there are two in the rear left fender. Thanks

i have heard of dry ice get some really thick gloves a bag of dry ice break up the ice the size you think youll need and rub it over the dents i havent done this but thats how i was told to do it and the guy said if you havent done it before i would mess with doing it
the dry ice is sposed to pop the dent out

 

I have heard of that also, do you think it will damage the paint?

 

im not sure but the guy that told me this said to also put it in a plastic bag or a small rag i would imaging it may crack the paint a little but having never done it before i couldnt tell ya

It won't crack the paint. The key is to have the body in direct sunlight that way it's good and warm, then work the dry ice around the outside edges of the dent. The process is shrinking the metal enough to draw it back out. Another thing you might try is get a large socket and put it on the backside, putting pressure and roll slowly while watching the dent. Don't push too hard or you'll make more marks. The edge of a socket is also good following those hard body lines. Take your time though and don't rush it and by all means don't get upset if it's not perfect. It's your first time doing it. Honestly, the new cars are hardet to work because the metal is so soft. Man I miss the old days.

 

I'd look for a "paintless dent repair" technician in your area (search the internet on that repair technique). Make sure the technician has an excellent reputation and does that type of body work regularly. The paintless dent repair technician that fixed the two dents on the side of my truck was recommended by the GMS dealer's body shop. The work was excellent and the body is factory new. The work on the two dents took one hour and cost $150. Even relatively large dents can be fixed with this technique.
