Good deal or not?

Good deal or not?
I posted this in the GMC forum, but some advice from Chevy guys never hurts...
82 GMC 3500 SRW 4x4
Crew Cab
454 GM crate motor w/ 20k miles
electronic 4sp w/ OD trans, 20k miles
Dana 60 Front/rear w/ Detroit locker on rear
brakes totally rebuilt 1000 miles ago, as well as AC, alternator and all hoses. New 35" BFG tires
body is excellent, interior is from a '91 suburban, Power leather driver/pass, upgraded stereo, interior is in very good shape.
Truck appears to have been well-kept (or rebuilt). All switches work except the cruise and the windshield washers.
Seller is asking $9500, truck is in Southern CA, where I live.
I used to own an '83 single cab 3500 4x4 with a 3 speed, and I loved that truck. I need to know if I am off my rocker even considering this truck, or if his price is in the ballpark. It is tough for me to find these trucks that haven't been converted to 350 motors or turned into farm/construction trucks and look like hell. Any advice is welcomed, I'm no newby but am becoming concerned that my emotions are winning the battle against prudent financial moves...

i agree w/ MR_Shamrock, i bought my 2002 2500HD 4x4, all power, all leather, 8.1, and Allison Transmission for $9500. the only thing wrong with it was that it cost me $300 to change out the lower ball joints and get an allignment. its cool that someone put in the time and the money on that 3500, but the fact of the matter is that it is still an '82. you COULD however, find out how much those new and upgraded parts are worth and add them all up to see if it is above or below the asking price and just buy the truck and sell it for parts, those axles are worth a pretty penny and i know i would want the front axle for a conversion on mine, maybe just wishfull thinking. keep us posted.

Done deal
I ended up buying the truck for $8500. I could have gotten a newer one or one with less miles, but I LOVE the body style of the early/mid 80's GM trucks, and I couldn't find a crew cab that wasn't thrashed to hell or had a 350 motor in it. I look forward to posting photos and having many enjoyable years with this truck.
