I've had both black amd white. I think it's really a personal preference. i like the one's on my wifes dogde, they look really good. I have always liked them and theywere pretty exclusive back in the day when they only came on top end cars. for this cheap they are a good deal IMO.

a freind of mine has a vynil graphic maker and i was thinking of getting him to make me a few 3/4 inch bowties to go on the faces. If he can do it would you guys be interesed in buying some? He will put them on ebay for a reasonable price.

 

The guages are one thing I wont mess with on my truck. I dont want any that are glaring or distracting in any way.

Anyone have any experiance with the cheap $40 dollar cold air intakes? I already have a K&N filter but would like to add the cold air intake.

 

I bought a blue and black Airaid knock-off that works just fine. Damn thing is huge, barely fits, but it fits. No instructions made it a little bit of a pain as I had to pull it out twice cause I realized something was backwards or crooked. It was like $40-50 somewhere around there with shipping. Look on ebay for something good, I need to find the guy who sold me mine. I'll try to find his email address.

 

The ones I was looking at were blue fittings with blue filter. Same price to, about $50 with shipping. Just wondered if they were so junky that it was a waste of money. But I can't imagine there being that much of a difference outside of the filter with K&N intake. They both look just like polished alumunim.

 

Mine was black painted with blue collars and filter. I was impressed with the quality compared to the price. Its heavy duty, and huge. But I only got like 4 months from the filter. Got a better one at Advance for $25.

 

popo - I would be interested in new guage faces if I can find a design I like, just haven't seen one that really does it yet.

 

As far as the cheap CAI kits - a tube is a tube. Ideally plastic is best, but the others will work as well. Doesn't make much sense to pay $250 + just for a name.

 

DamnYankee: Damn straight! Its kinda hard to mess up a tube.

As long as its not cardboard and is at least the size of the TB.
