hey everyone, i am a new to forums and also new to trucks. I have always wanted to have a Chevy as my truck. I am curious to see if it would be wise to purchase a truck with most or all of the aftermarket modifications i want or to just buy the truck and do the modifications myself. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

 

Depends on a few things.....If a truck has been modified, chances are it also has been abused a bit, especially if it off road or horsepower mods. If it is just stuff like a bed cover, paint, stereo etc, that is a different story.

Personally, I would try and buy something stock and make it my own

 

I agree with Poncho. If you have all kinds of modifications, chances are the person who did them might not hold to as high a quality standard that you might, and thus these mods might be a source of frustration in the future. I prefer to buy my vehicles unmolested. As original as possible. If it's a stereo install, ok, if it's a bed cover, ok but too much more than that, I'd stay away unless the price is right and you're willing to work with whatever has been done to the truck.
