Default Having trouble with trailer breaks. HELP!

Just picked up a '03 2500HD. I installed a trailer brake controller and plugged it in under the dash. This controller was removed from my previous 1500 Silveradoand was in working condition.

When the right tail lamp/blinker is activated, so are the trailer breaks. All works great when the right turn signal is not activated.

Also, the cruise does not work. Cruise works fine when trailer is unpluged.

Anybody have any ideas? Help! Any ideas???

Thanks.

how well did you insulate your connections from eachother?

Not sure. I just plugged the brake controller in under the dash where it goes. No connectors were touched.

Sounds like two wires are touching. I'm not sure where/how to start trying to isolate the issue.

Thanks for the help.
