Default Head Gasket Help!!!

Bought a 98 Z71 5.7L Vortex few weeks ago...Towed a Heavy, loaded down Trailor...Noticed it started over heating....Now i cant keep water in it...Head Gasket I suppose....Even though it didnt overheat would it crack the heads becuase the water ran out? Can i just Pull the heads and replace without any major tuning or messing with the valves???

Check the intake gaskets first. The intakes are bad about leaking on these trucks.

Now that you've been bit by the Dex-Cool Anti Freeze, get some Green Anti Freeze in ASAP after a flush. There are 14 TSBs on this and many other Anti Freeze Related problems. Save yourself future problems and FLUSH EVERY YEAR, cheaper by the long run, about $27 total w/flush
