HELP!! 02 1500 auto won't go into gear
i have a 02 1500 automatic and it will not go into gear. Press on the break and the gear shift just goes up and down without clicking into gear. I've checked the shift cable and it looks ok. Any ideas??

does it move without the key on?...You need to have another person look under the truck while you shift it to make sure the shift lever moves.....if it doesnt then your cable is broke
