Dude we are gonna need to know a lot more than that. What motor is it? Did you rebuild it yourself? Have you checked the timing?

its a 305 with a tubro 400 tranny. my dad and i cleaned it down to the block and rebuilt from that. we checked the timing. its good. im trying to figure something out without having to pull the motor again. my next guess is that the valves are too tight?

I don't know as far as that goes. Haven't rebuilt one myself yet but there are several guys on here that could help you. Probably all still at work right now though. Is it fuel injected or carburated?

yea. we did a compression test before we pulled the motor. i was running 200-220 psi STOCK. i did the test again last night because i thought i might have a valve problem, and i was only running 120-130 with the new World Performance Torquer heads. idk if thats bad or its the new heads.
