HELP.... possible ecm problems
1996 vortec v6 swb
first i got it from my grandparents. they put in a new fuel sending unit, but the mech. reused the old pump with out the strainer. he did not change the fuel filter either.
now the problem starts. the strain on the pump overloaded my fuel pump relay. this caused it get so hot it melted the fuse/relay box under the hood. i lost all power to the truck and had it towed home. right after he lowered it to the ground, i tried to start it. it ran.
i have now replaced the fuel pump, strainer, filter, relay, had the spot on the frame sanded for the ground, and even changed the fues/ relay box. the relay runs hot at 180 degrees and i was told that is normal.
the truck runs, but crappy. i had the battery unhooked for about 2 hours. i forgot to reset the computer. so, i unhooked the battery again for an hour, reconnected it, turned the key to the on/start position (did not start it) for 30 min, started it and drove it for about 30 miles. it still does not run right.
it had a code for the o2 sensor befor the box melting. now it says cam sensor and maf sensor, but no o2 sensor. what can i do.
please help
