I have a 2005 gmc sierra 5.3 liter and i was just wandering if any of you had any cheap ways to more horsepower.

 

Find someone that is getting rid of a stock ls1 cam(round 99-2001) and put it in your 5.3l. It will give you bout 25 to the wheels. You can do it yourself. Real simple. Took me bout 2 1/2 hours and I only paid bout 50 bucks for the used cam. You dont need the lifters. Thats the cheapest mod I know of. Others like CAI and exhaust are gonna cost bout 500, and you would only get bout 15-25 hp out of those. Tuning is a big jump, but it would be best if you did your boltons first then the tune.
