Hello, my name's rob. I'm new to this forum. Well i was looking to get a turbo diesel pickup, I'm going o finance and my price range is 9000 or lower. My real question is what older turbo diesel would be the best value with the highest output ?

 

early 90's 2500 chevy silverado are good. you can get a 6.5 liter turbo diesel and they have lots of power. Also they are really cheap. you could get one for less than 5000.

 

i have a 1993 Chevy with a 6.5L diesel. it is a good truck. make sure if you are going to but a chev though to get a 1993 because it still has the mechanical fuel pump. the newer ones ae not as reliable as this one. keep in mind that it is not a heavy duty motor like a Cummins or a powerstroke. personally i would try to fing a cummins .

 

As much as i hate to say it you would probably be better off goin with the cummins. The turbo 6.5 is a good motor but it just wont turn out as much as the cummins. But what ever you do do not get the late 80's chevy with that weak *** nonturbo diesel. That thing is a dog. I would also shy away from a powerchoke. They just arent as reliable as the cummins of the Chevy 6.5.

 

F-350 Love em, I have a 2004 Turbo now but at one time I had an 89 7.3 liter diesel. It would tow a house. I trade it with 250K miles on it and I still got $8,000.00 and it would still be running if I still had it.
