Yeah it is thats why I haven't done it yet. But if I can get 5+ more mph, AND get a few extra horsepower than I am all for it. I was going to add the system, use 87 octane fuel but tune the truck with my 93 octane tune and adjust the fuel trims and timing as needed. Theoretically it will work with out the O2 spacers and MAF module.

But how much would you really save after its all said and done? And how long do they last what kind of maintenance?

 

imo its just not worth it...at least not now, maybe when the tecnhology gets better...its like when cellphones first came out, they were the size of a briefcase, its the same concept, ill give it some time to develop

 

I'd say $100-$150 up front cost. Then $25-$50 dollars once every 12-18 months to rebuild the inside. Savings of around $350 a year at a minimum 3 mpg gain after spending $200 tops. That isn't amazing but that's worst case scenario. The guy who does the red "big rig" units on ebay supposedly gets 27 MPG out of a 5.7 Silverado. That would be around $700 a year saved on gas after spending $200. So $500 ain't bad if you ask me. Plus if you do it right your truck will be spunkier and run smoother.

*I used 15,000 miles traveled a year based on $3.60 a gallon of gas with the base MPG at 20.

Mount the unit somewhere, run 1 vacuum line to the intake using vacuum hose or windshield washer fluid line. On the end of the hose/line you need a spray nozzle which is rated at 3 gallons per minute or so. Then run one from the PCV valve using a vacuum "T" and into the unit. (Air from PCV will push HHO from the unit into the intake). Then run a positive wire to an accessory power source, ground it, fill the unit with water and baking soda.

To tune you need a handheld or professional tune. Otherwisae you need one of those MAF modifiers and those 02 spacers to "fool" the PCM into backing off the fuel trims.

Oh sorry I mean 3 gallons per hour. Its a real fine mist nozzle for vegetation.

Actually I don't even think you need the nozzle, but you would need a bubbler or filter of some kind to prevent water and debris from entering your intake.

These things are crap. Don't waist you money. You would need to dump about 600Amps into the metal plate (preferably lithium) thats submerged in the water to actually make a HHO system that was worth a damn. Do you know of any 600amp alternators?
