hight heater setting
hey guys i have a 05 with a blower problem . it will work on 4 settings but the highest wich is #5 will not work. it started this morning when on the way to work. it will dim the lights a bit wheni try to put the switch on 5. my boss says that it has happened to out company truck and it costed him 300.00 to fix it. twice. and he said it was in the dash. now i called a local dealer and they told me it could be one of 3 resistors and it would be around 100.00 to fix. does this sound right?? is it a easy fis can i do this myself if it is one of 3 how do i find out wich one it is.. thanx for everybodys help on this.....bill

RE: hight heater setting
Most likely Its the blower resistor melted as stated...but it ain't no hundred bucks...
it'll take a resistor and a new pigtail...not tuff to do,but that pigtail is a 100 bucks.
it still could be the switch...check it with a test lite ..
also wiggle the connector at the resistor and see if the fan comes on

RE: hight heater setting
upgradedtrucks have a panel on the passenger floorboard hiding the fan and such....base trucks its all in the open..
remove that panel if you have 1....
look near the fan motor...you'll see about a 7 wire connector plugged into the resistor...wiggle that connector and see if your fan comes back on
