I have an 05 silverado 1500 crew cab. I am looking to install a hitch but it seams like that the spare tire is in the way. I dont want to have to lose it or move it. I have seen the hidden hitch that may seem to wrap around the tire but i am not sure if there is enough room. If anyone can tell me what to get or what to do it would be great help. Just want to figure it out before I buy. Thanks

 

I would assume that you are talking about a gooseneck ball for the bed of your truck. Spare tire isn't an issue.

these should work.you also might be able to find a factory hitch off a wrecked truck in salvage yard.thats crazy your truck didnt come with a hitch,i dont think i have seen a truck not have one from factory from 99-present.

 

Get a good class IV hitch and they will work with the spare tire on the truck however you will need to take the spare tire off to be able to install it. Any hitch will tell you if it needs to have the spare tire relocated in the truck. Most of the aftermarket hitch's come so that you don't even have to drill holes. The no-drill hitches are the best one's if you ask me.
