There are some guys who have done multiple home-made ram air systems (other than the redneck ram air). I dont know what the names of the threads are but you can just try seaching ram air. I know Popo did one.

Ive seen them made with PVC pipe. They start with a elbow on the throttle body and run a pipe to the stock box. Then you can get a cheap cone filter from the parts store.
