Cold Air or Ram Air

RE: Cold Air or Ram Air
The only way you can have a REAL ram air is if you drive with the passanger side headlight out. By the way if you do this make sure you don't lay the headlight hold down rods ontop of the air box.... needless to say I did that on accident at the dragstrip and nearly went into cardiac arrest when I realized they weren't in the passanger seat with the headlight. Luckily they fell behind the air intake and were safe, LOL!
ANYWAY, go here and read about the red neck ram air mod. I did this and dropped a OEM replacement K&N air filter in the factory box and had awesome gains. https://www.truckforums.com/m_17037/tm.htm
Don't forget to check out the Silverado FAQs before you go asking a lot of questions. The likelyhood is that they've been answered already. Good luck man.
