Default inconsistant oil preasure

Ive noticed over the last week that my oil preasure has been inconsistant at best. Some days when the truck is fully warmed up my oil preasure reads just over 40psi with no "knock" then on other days when the truck is fully warm it reads between 23-25 psi with a slight "knock" in the motor....is this a failing oil pump or is there something Im missing?

When pressure drops with a slight knock when oil warms can be caused by loose rod and/or main bearing clearances. Try heavier weight oil to see if problem lessens.

yeah tried the 20w50 and it still does it I think its probably time for a rebuild its got almost 211000 on it
but what really gets me is the inconsistant pressure I sat and watched it warm up this morning and it hit 210 deg and I still had 42 psi but about 5 min later it started dropping.....it makes no sense at all
