You're exactly right hunt4game29! With 4wheel drive, you want to change the front to match the back.

Or, just NEVER put it in 4WD. The dealer probably said it wouldn't improve towing much b/c something else would be the weak link.

But if you have a 4 wheel drive, and never put it in 4WD, then you will have more problems.
1. You have to engage the 4WD every so often to keep everything lubicated.
2. If you are not going to use 4WD, why pay for the extra gas since you are carrying alot more weight with the front differential, transfercase , driveshaft, axle, etc.

I was being halfway sarcastic. My buddy with the 14 bolt conversion is doing it for now until he can get the $1,000 saved up to do the front.

Sounds like a good idea to me! I could certainly go without 4WD long enough to save up for the front.

MrLM7 - I understand, it is just way too expensive. I would take out the fuse so I didn't forget and put it in by mistake. Also you can get in some soft dirt or sand and put it in 4-wheel just to keep everything lubricated.
