Has anyone installed LED light strips for brakes, directionals, and backup? I've seen one advertised and was wondering if they're worth it.

 

Are you talking about the tail light bar that everyone has installed on thier trucks under the tailgate? If so yes I installed 1 on my brother's Ford F150 and on my mom's Chevy Avalanche. Are they worth it... it is a matter of preference. I like them, but I do not have 1.

 

I added one to my truck about a year ago. I like it (preference) and in my mind, adds a level of safety by alerting some of the yahoo's behind you that you are braking, stopping, turning, etc.

if its done right (cant see how hard it is anyway), i like it...but ive seen some horrible install jobs that ruin a truck

 

When the reverse lights come on the ones in the led stip really do not put enough light out to do anyhting for the driver, but it does show the person behind you that you definately have it in reverse. Now I do agree with Quinnydog and that it does add another level of safety.

 

I had one on my old truck my brother helped me install it , I But just a suggestion is to only get the 3 option one not the one that also has reverse I have seen like three of them and they all have lights burnt out for some reason they just don't last but the ones with blinkers and hazards and brakes they are great.

 

I added LED lighting all around on my 1989 silverado 2500.... Really love them alot. I got most of my lighting online from octane motorsprots..
