Default Lift or Lower??

I was wondering if anyone had any input in which one. I know everyone has their own style but i like the look of a truck with all-terrain tires but i also like the look of a lowered truck (IF it is done right). The reason i am asking is i want to do one or the other to my truck. I have an 04 1500 2wd. I would not put a lift but just level it out and get 18" wheels with all-terrain tires if i did that option. The second would be to lower it and get 20's with a street tire.
Let me know what you think?

I like them both ways but if I were doing mine I'd level the rear and go with the 20s. I like the pro-street look..........

IMO you should never lower a full size truck.

I will never lower a truck, all it does is limit the capabilities of the truck. Chevys are already too low stock I could never see lowering one. But to each his own.

Level it out. Front up. Not rear down.

I have 20" wheels on my 2008 Silverado ext cab. I lowered the rear 3 " with 2"shackles and removing the 1" block between springs and rear end housing. It is now level front and rear. looks good

Thanks guys for the input. I like the idea about going off-roadin because i live on a farm and we have plenty of mudholes...but we use the old farm truck for that, most reliable truck on the farm and the oldest. My cousin rebuilds wrecks and he has done many very nice avalanches, even his show truck was wrecked. His truck is lowered with 22's and it looks awesome (even though it is 4-wheel drive). He has talked me into buying 20's and street tires just because we put his 22's on my truck and i fell in love. Thanks everyone for their ideas.
