Default looking at buying 2009 1500 or 2500

Hi all I am looking at getting a new 2009 silverado. Is there any known issues with the 2009 model? Like early 2000 chevy v8 had wrist pin rattle or the dodge trany going at 50,000 miles. thanks for any info.

I take it from no replys from anyone that no one knows anything about the chevy trucks.

Most of the guys here aren't too familiar with the 09 trucks. I would say go for it because everyone I've talked to has been perfectly happy with their truck and on top of it all....They look sweet

I have an '08 1500, 5.3L, 4WD. I have about 3600 miles on it. So far, so good. No issues yet. I understand there's a 5 spd auto available now. Or maybe it's 6 spd. Anyway, that's the only difference I can see from what I've read. I would definitely recommend getting the 5.3L over the 4.8. Mileage will probably be better with the larger engine because of the active fuel management. I can knock down about 17.5 MPG average.

I was a little apprehensive because I owned an F150 & got pretty high, trouble-free miles from it. But I loved the way the Silverado/Sierras looked. No complaints yet. My advice is to look around a while. I found a great deal by not rushing in. Finally found what I wanted cheaper than a slightly-used truck.

Honestly, if you get a good warranty with it,there isn't much to worry about is there?

I never heard any bad news yet about 09 silverado so I guess it's a good choice.

Default 2009 Silverado

I just got a 2009 regular cab with 4x4. Only has 300 miles on it but I really like it.

I bought an 09 crew cab 5.3 4X4 LTZ. The truck is fantastic. So far I am getting 20 MPG on the highway at 70MPH. I have the factory 20"rims on it as well. I put full synthetic Amsoil in the engine and am planning on switching all the fluids to Amsoil. Highly recommended truck

Got my 2009 Z71 4x4 in Feb, I now have 17k miles on it, no real issues to note. 1 of the bolts that holds the tailgate handle worked a little loose, that's about it. I know, 17k, it's a lot, it's a daily driver with a 100 mile round trip commute.

I had an '07 2500 and now have an '09 1500. I really like both trucks. I now have the 5.3 with a six speed. Other than an occasional clunk at very low speeds, they work great together. I only have about 4500 miles on it so far but it's a keeper for sure. The only reason I got rid of the 2500 was that I didn't need the towing capacity any longer. It was a great truck for the purpose but more than I needed for what I do now.
