Low end torque
In my sig is obviously the mods I have performed on my truck, and I have a previous thread regarding a slight knock. What I want to know is what I can to to improve low end torque, as my truck is an absolute slug off the line. Once Im up to 45 she gains confidence and takes off, but I want that thing to have improved line acceleration, hands down. Any thoughts?
well according to the "planned" in your sig:
1. no TBS, they do nothing for 96+ vehicles
2. your stock coils are fine for most updgrades
3. dont know on injectors
4. custom tune from blackbear performance, unless you really just wan to p*ss money away on a hypercrap
5. rims: whatever you think looks good on your truck
6. Forced induction: go for it!!!!!
7. a 99 5.3 is the weakest 5.3 produced with something like only 275hp
8. regearing: if you have bigger tires regearing is your friend. if stock tires, regearing will give you a mechanical advantage.

Those are all good ideas and directions to start with. A couple of things to keep in mind as a general rule,
1: More fuel and air will always help, as long as they can work together. (so that is why forced induction is the way to go)
2: A tune will always help, also you have torque managment that I think is really killing your takeoffs. Something to keep in mind with the custom tunes is that you will be able to tune to what you have under the hood. (Bigger payoffs in the power area) The other thing I can say about these custom tunes is that most will let you take it back and get it updated if you buy something new and things like that.
3: Long tube headers, I would have to say after the CAI and the cat-back exhaust, the headers would help the most. (other than the programmer or tune)
4: I have read those E3 plugs are a good thing to go also.
Good Luck friend!

If you do injectors then you will probably have to do a fuel pumop also... especailly if you do forced injection. And a fuel regulator also depending on how much you put into it. Also instead of a 99 5.3 motor... rebuild or find a newer motor for more power and increased dependability and computer for that motor to have retuned the way you want it tuned.
