Default LS conversions

i have a 2003 4.3L silverado 4X4with a 5spd manual tranny. does anyone know about engine conversions? i would like to put ina LS motor that comes in the Corvette family. i was alsothinkin along the line of a 350 or 383 from GMperformance. i would want reliability and as easy as an install as possible. if anyone knows of a website(s) thatll point me in the right direction as far as instructions, wiring, motor mounts, etc let me know>> thanks

awesome, i suggest if your going to do an LS swap, go to ebaymotors, and find a wrecked LS1 donor car for the PCM and all the good stuff out of it, if you cant find it on there, go to LS1tech.com, and look in the for sale stuff, they always have useful stuff like that. as for the motor, i think a 408 LS1 sounds NNNIIIICCCEEE!!! good luck with it all man!!

I'd say find a Fu(K3d up Trailblazer SS and get the LS2 and a bad-*** auto tranny. That way, you'll have 395 hp and a tranny that won't go up in smoke under the extra weight and power of future mods.

also you will need better suspension in the front, because i think its diff. for the v6's and also new rear end gears are smaller for the 6

I agree with chevy1224 100%! To get maximum drivability out of your truck if you make this swap, you are going to have to change a lot of ****, but damn would it be worth it!!

wouldnt i be able to swap out the gears (front and back)from a 5.3 or a 6.0 and put them back into the pumpkins on the 4.3 or would it not fit? both axles look the same size as the bigger motored silverados. thanks

i believe that you can interchange those gears, but im not posative. The rear end on the six is the same ten bolt i think, and you should be able to swap em out pretty easy.
