I'm re-cleaning my filter and should probably clean my maf. I need to leave it connected to the truck, I can put them back in just fine it's the whole unhooking it that I suck at. I'm wondering if canned air and a rag will do the trick.

 

QuickDisconnect Battery / If andwhen You really should remove it and use a good quality MAF Cleaner or electronics cleaner spray.
all you have to do is spray the little wire contacts that are in side with a couple of blasts of spray.Be careful not to touch the metal contacts as they are very fragile and will break if not careful.
Once done like it dry completely and reinstall all done

 

I will remeber to disconnect for sure now! I really wouldn't have more than likley I do have that electronic's/keyboard cleaner I'll just have to find the right time of day since it's raining in washington, no suprise huh? lol

 

They actually make a spray designed specifically for MAF's. Electronics cleaner probably won't hurt it but I wouldn't use it considering they have a different spray for MAF's.

Also, why would you need to disconnect the battery? Just because you are not disconnecting the MAF? There is still no electricity going to it, I doubt it would be a problem. Course there's always a time to be wrong, LOL.

 

As long as you unplug the MAF, you won't have to disconnect the battery. I do it anyways toreset the computer so it doesn't remember the dirty maf readings.

 

Yeah I have a problem with disconnecting the maf, not really good at it, almost broke the little clip that holds it together when I put in intake in and switched my maf. This one has some minor damage to the screen which I'm guessing is fine since many of ya'll remove it anyway.

 

If the screen is damaged, might as well pull it out.

Easy to do, hard to mess up as long as you avoid the middle sensors. You can do it.
