max tire size

hello, i am looking into getting a chevy/gmc 1500 pickup between the years of 97-02, ext cab short box, Z71 that will probably have a stock height(no lift) and i'm thinking of changing the wheels and tires out. I am looking at getting a set of KMC revolver 18" wheels with an aggressive tire such as the BFG all-terrain or mud-terrain, or something similar. I have a few questions that I really hope can get answered.

What is the MAX size tire that can be on these different body styles (stock height) trucks without rubbing or need for any mods?

What is the MAX size tire that can be on these trucks with a 3-4" lift without rubbing or other mods?

thanks

I had an 02 Tahoe z71 that was not lifted at all and got 285/70/17's on it. I did tighten down the torsion bars ( need to get re-aligned after doing so ) with very minimal rubbing when turned one way or the other all the way but only in reverse. I had BFG all terrains first and upon replacing, got the Mud Terrain KM2's. I did have to trim a little of the fender liner and I know sometimes you have to trim a little of the plastic on the bottom of the bumper. I don't know where or how you drive but the KM2's are awesome and look good. If you rotate them a lot, they are relatively quiet compared to other mud tires.

99 is the first year of the NBS. 97 and 98 are still OBS.

assuming you want a 99-02, some 285/60/18's should fit. I think thats the biggest size.

Just like the guy above ^ Im running 285/70-17's on my 00 ECSB Z71 with about 1" of torsion bar tightening. and the front left scrubs when turning in reverse. some 97-03 Ford F150 keys and/or new shocks would solve that though.

Id suggest to crank the stock keys about as fas as they will go, get an alignment and see how the 285/60/18's fit... mabye 285/65/18 whichever is the common size of the 2.
