Default minor add ons

I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of lifting shackles for a 2002 chev 1/2ton. I'm gettin a little sick of the truck looking like a 2wd and was considering getting a set of adjustable torsion keys from summit for the front. I remember seeing a set of lifting shackles a couple of months ago and was courious if anyone else has ever head of them. I would like to know if I will need different shocks when i add these things. I am also getting a volant cold air and maybe a throttle body spacer. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

You can also crank the stock torsion bars and bring the front end up some. That's what I did on mine for the same reason - I didn't like how low the front end sat for a 4WD. It MAY affect the wear pattern on your tires. Some guys have problems with that, some don't. I don't in my case....

i've heard that cranking up your torsion bars can cause rough rides, and excessive wear and tear. I found a set of lifting shackles on the djm website but now im wondering if I will need new shocks?

anytime the bars move,it should be re-aligned...as stated, many don't and are fine.....but you are changing working angles

I didn't notice any ride change with mine and had absolutely no problems with tire wear.

if you go more than two or 2 1/2 turns on the torsion bars, that's when alignment and ride and wear and all that usuallybecome a problem... the good news is, 2 1/2 turns almost levels out most trucks

Ok, so if I wanted to go higher what would be the next step. I was trying to get about 2 1/2 inches of lift in the front and the rear with out spending an arm and a leg. If it costs to much I just wont bother with it. I'm also wondering what people are running for rubber?

new torsion keys are the way to go for the lift you want. As far as tires I run 285/70/17 Kumho AT. They last forever, ride good, and are comparatively inexpensive. If I could afford it I would get BFG mud terrains.
