Default More power

I just bought an 01' 1500 4x4 with the 4.3 and a 5 speed tranny. I got it as a daily driver so i could start bogging my other truck again. Like i said it was supposed to be cheap transpertation. Ipicked it up for 5500 with a hair over60 grand on it. But i can't help my self. Has any one here pumped up one of these little motors? I'm thinking a new cam, under drive pulleys, cold air intake and a progamer. Let me now worked and how well it worked. Buy the way, i am new here. So...Howdy!

welcome to the forum!

I have the 4.3 and so far I have done the cold air intake, turbulent air box removal, 180 degree thermostat, descreened MAF. I will be porting my throttle body tomorrow morning and getting the exhaust done soon. all of these work well but i too was thinking about a cam. good luck

I would suggest to you guys that you do a search for the free horse power and cheap mods posts in the history section. they are good and cheap

Thanks for the replys fellas. Just to tell you how much i like this truck. I threw my 93' F-150 with 6" lift and 35s' on a trailer and hauled it 10 miles to my house. I had to down shift to 4th on some of the hills. But at one stop, i forgot to put it in first and pulled out on a 45deg incline in 2nd no problem. I didn't even notice untill i tried to put it in 2nd. I have also towed a 25ft. Cavalier deck boat with it. So i know i do not need more power. But, i freaking want it. While i am asking about upgrades.Does anyone have a set of Interco Swamper LTB tires? I am thinking of getting a tire combo. 4 tires on rims, mounted an balanced for 600 bucks.

I found them on desertrat.com, they are 31x11.50x15 Swamper LTBs'on 15x8 American Racing Rock Crawler wheels mounted and balanced. That price is w/o tax an shipping. I'm going with astockish size tire because i am not lifting this truck. I'm looking for a prerunner style light bar for the front bumper, so i can add some KC lights.
