With 22"s... no I dare so that does not sound normal. Even with that 5.3, I couldn't see ya getting more than 17-18mpg at those highway speeds + the added weight of the dub deuces.

If your SURE you calculated it right then that's awesome... I wanna know your secret!

well the trip from Carlton Ga. to Claxton Ga. was 220 someodd miles.when I got there I refilled putting 11.3 gallons of gas in the tank. when I did the math I got 19.49 so unless I did it wrong that's 19.5 mpg.there's no secret to tell except I keep my wife & kids out from under the wheel

I was getting 19 mpg once I hit the carolinas when I went to Florida last year. Truck was tuned up but bone stock at that point. I am getting at least 17.5 on a day to day average now and I haven't been on the highway that much. Country roads mostly. Im guessing if I did go on the highway it would be at, or close to 19.5.

that is great mileage for those heavy wheels. This is a dumb question but was your tank bone dry at the fill up? there may have still been a few gallons in there that would throw off your calcs. I would LOVE to have those numbers in my truck! lucky! dang!

My 07 classic four door, two wheel drive with a 4.8 got 21.5 consistently from Oklahoma to Colorado last summer, even going through those mountain passes. But it does have a 3.23 rear end.

You guys are all lucky! I have an '05 2500HD Crew with the 6.0. I get 12 mpg highway/town combo driving on a good day! I am looking to mofidy the truck to get better MPGs and make it sound better and give it more get-up-and-go.
