Hello,
The other day this wire fell out from under my dash. I can't for the life of me figure out where it goes. The odd thing is that everything works. Here are some pictures I took. The last picture shows some corrosion on the pins and usually this does not happen in it was plugged in.

I don't have that on my 04 GMC Z71. Maybe it's for trailer brakes, just a guess.

 

I wanna say right off of the top of my head looks like something that plugged into one of the old radio/cassette/receiver boxes on my old '89 TBI Silverado.

 

Definitely a puzzler.. I don't recognize it.

Do you have any after market stuff in your truck that has replaced any standard equipment, ie stereo. Or any signs of previous equipment that may have been removed like a trailer brake controller.

The PO had a remote start installed which still works great, but no brake controller.

 

Plugged into trailer port. So I would say for trailer brake controller??

 

I am seeing blue, red, black, white....which are the colour wires for a brake controller

Does your truck have the towing package and a 7 place plug at the back?

 

Yes, but I don't have trailer brake controller hooked up. I have the factory jumper harness in the glove box still.

 

Yes I have a towing package. However, my boat has a single axle so I never needed trailer brakes. Thanks for the replies.
