Default Need advice on 4.8

My 4.8 in my 99 Z71 is about to go. I owe too much on the truck to get rid of so it will need a rebuild. I guess my question is weither tostay with the 4.8 or get something better out of a junk yard. I was thinking about the 6.0 maybe. Just wondering what everyone thinks, is the 4.8 worth keeping? Any help would be great.

the 4.8 is nice but if you are gonna spend the money just get a bigger motor the added power is alway nice.

You might think it sounds like a good idea now, but if you put something different in you'll also have to change almost all the wiring and the computer, tranny? (I'm not sure if they will fit from your v6 to a v8) and lots more little things that you probably won't find out until after you started putting the new motor in.

So if you like a challenge by all means do it, if you want it fixed right away get another 4.8 and drop it right in.

The 4.8 is a V-8 so I was hoping that I might be able to put a 6 liter right down in it without changing the ECU. Thats why i'm hoping that someone knows if it will drop in there or not.
