I just bought a 2001 silverado used and had a question about the gauges. The truck is blue with custom blue gauges and the guy told me that the odometer will go off on occasions and you had to thump it a couple times and it would come back on..Well it has been off all day since I bought the truck and I tried thumping it and it still wont come on..Im talkin about the green that lights up with the milelage and gear selection..If anybody could help me PLEASE let me know what the problem could be and how I could fix it cause I dont really want to take it in to the shop..Thanks

 

try popping off the trim, look behind the cluster for any loose or broken connectors....thats all i can think of

 

ok I will try that and see what happens..Hopefully its a loose connector..Im assumming he screwed it up when the gauges went in..

 

It'll take a cluster to fix it...around 275 bucks
