I was changing the U-joints on my friends 00 Silverado 1500 and on the last cap I broke the tab on the driveshaft. Both of the driveshaft makers in town are unable to get the end of the driveshaft as I have been told that it is exclusively available to chevy and chevy won't sell just the end you have to buy the whole driveshaft. Chevy wants 460 for the driveshaft at my companies cost and I can get a steel driveshaft of a smaller diamater made for 325.

Both the local junk yards don't have any, anybody have any ideas. I tried ebay and they show one for a 00 2500 and says it fits older 1500's would that work? Any of your yards have one? It's an extended cab short box if you want to help, thanks in andvance.
