need help...good deal?
hi guys, I'm looking to get my first truck and have found a truck I like. it is a 2004 Sierra SLT Z71. I'm wooried about the km's on the body and the "new" engine and transfer case. here is a copy of the ad, can you please tell me if from your knowledge this would be a good deal. I'm not educated on how tough and how long these trucks and motors last. I appreciate all the help! He was asking $15,000 Canadian, I got him to $13,500 rather easily, so I'm not sure what that means.

I would stay away. It has a lot of kms/miles on it and I don't care if it has a new engine or not, other parts are bound to fail. It seems odd to me that it would need a new engine or not and there is also the chance of a botched job on the install of any of these aftermarket parts. You can easily pick up a early 2000's Pickup with less kms on it for under 10k and then put the work into it afterwards. That way you only pay for what you need and you know it is done right. Maybe it's my picky nature and foresight but I don't think its a good buy, unless of course you are in Canada and I don't know what the currency conversion is
