Default Need some advice?

I have a 1988 chevy scottsdale 4x4 with 350 t.b.i. After the engine warms up good it starts to sputter, backfire and miss to the point of no power. this mainly occurs in drive under load. was hoping it could be something i could fix not looking forward to sending it in?????

Possibly a coolant temperature sender - the one by the thermostat. When they go bad it can trick the computer into thinking the truck is still cold and will keep the fuel mixture rich causing your symptoms. Good luck!
