Need Specs and help.
Hi guys, New here to the forums just found the site today and couldn't stop reading all the helpful post.
What I'm dealing with is I own a 2003 2500hd chevy 6.0 Gas 4x4. Due to a new job I have to travel alot so I wanted to get better gas millage, So I installed a new K&N air intake kit. And now I'm going to swap the gears the original gear ratio is 4:10, I orderd two new sets of gears and pinions set that are 3:73, along with master bearing kits.
Now the real issue I'm worried about is I would like to find some documentation on toque specs and backlash (.010"), and even some instructions, the rear is a "floater" rear end from what the dealership said and the front is IDFS which I've never worked on before. I have worked on gear swaps before in chevy 12 bolts and just wasn't sure on the best way about doing these rear ends in my 03. If there is any "heads up" I should now about plz help.
So tomorow I'm going to do the rear end and fri I'm going to try to get the front end done. Due to lack of time I cant keep the truck in the shop and due them both at once.
Thank you for your help
