Default New to the Diesel world!

I am purchasing a 2007 Silverado/diesel with 8500 miles. When do I need to change the oil and fuel filter. Who can I take this to besides the dealer for this work? or should I let the dealer do it?

We change the oil in our 06 duramax every 3000-5000 miles and i couldn't tell you off the top of my head how often you change the fuel filter, but I'll find out.

You should be very happy with your truck. The only downside with the 07+ is that you have to put clean diesel in it, but it is becoming increasingly easier to find and we are seeing it more and more. YOU CAN'T HAUL TOO MUCH, I DON'T THINK IT"S POSSIBLE TO "OVER DO IT". Just don't be alarmed when you are in Towhaul and go down a hill because the revvs will jump to keep it at a more consistent rpm. I'll find out the fuel filter frequency sometime today and get back to you when I remember.

OH, and welcome to Truckforums!!!!!!

as far as the fuel filter goes, I have no idea how often because the computer tells me. Your 07 should have the computer too so you shouldn't worry too much about that
